Class 8 Truck User Forum

Electricore SmallThe Class 8 Truck User Forum was formed to advance the development of heavy-duty truck technology.  Class 8 Truck safety, reliability, fuel efficiency, and ergonomics are common concerns for both commercial industry and the U.S. military.  The U.S. military and industry can best benefit by coordinating efforts to advance technologies and resources in these areas.

This Forum includes governmental entities, regulatory agencies, and civilian organizations that actively engage in trucking and related industries. The intent is to involve all parties who have an interest in resolving problems unique to commercial and vocational trucks and trailers, as well as their support and equipment.  Major partners include the U.S. Army National Automotive Center (NAC), the Technology and Maintenance Council of the American Trucking Association (ATA) and Electricore, Inc.

The Class 8 Truck User Forum communicates through a combination of web-based operations, teleconferencing, and open meetings.  The first forum open meeting will be held at the TMC/AMA fall meeting in Nashville, Tennessee, September 15-20.  Future meetings will be scheduled to coincide with major trucking industry events such as TMC conferences, the Mid-American Trucking Show and the SAE Commercial Vehicles Conference.

This Class 8 Truck User Forum leverages the significant investments made by the government, major truck manufacturers and technology companies to advance the development of heavy-duty truck technology. All who participate will benefit from the development of safer, more reliable, and more fuel-efficient vehicle technology.
