Electricore is actively involved with several public outreach activities throughout the World. To date, Electricore has participated in over 70 demonstrations, with recent activities including the following: vehicle demonstrations of the IUPUI Electric Race Car, E-10 pickups and EV/HEV technology at the Indiana State Fair (90,000 visitors/day for 14 days), demonstrations at Carmel High School for Career Day (2500 students, 60 faculty and 200 parents), offering hybrid-electric shuttle bus support for a community service event sponsored by U.S. Senator Dan Coats (75 students and 10 parents) and demonstrations of the E-10, IUPUI race car and the GM EV1 at the Earth Day Indiana Festival in downtown Indianapolis (2000 visitors). Recent media events include a live radio interview involving the hybrid-electric shuttle bus and a front page article in the Indianapolis Star Business Section on the hybrid-electric shuttle bus demonstration project at the Indianapolis International Airport. Electricore has brought advanced technology awareness to thousands since inception in 1992.

Public Outreach Highlights

  • Teach the Technology & Vehicle Demonstration
    School-age children, grades 5-12, learn about the latest electric vehicle technology through the program "Teach the Technology," developed by Electricore along with PSI Energy, Indianapolis Power & Light, Delphi Energy & Engine Management Systems, and the Brownsburg, Indiana Public School System.

  • Chattanooga Electric Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)
    The current EVIC is a 2,000 square foot area dedicated to education and informational exchange, supporting electric vehicles. It is open seven days a week, 363 days a year. The center has a number of static and interactive displays that provide visitors with information on the benefits of electric propulsion, including displays that show the benefits of inductive and conductive charging, electric motor demonstrations, and charge unit demonstrations.

  • Electric Vehicle Consumer Demographics
    Project objective is to determine baseline attitudes & perceptions of electric vehicles. Electricore commissioned a survey of people living in the Indianapolis Power and Light, Public Service Indiana, Southern Indiana Gas and Electric, Northern Indiana Public Service Company, & Indiana-Michigan Power service areas, Chattanooga, Tennessee, & Cincinnati, Ohio. The results of the study of consumer attitudes showed that over half of those surveyed considered themselves familiar w/ electric cars, & almost half said they would consider purchasing an electric vehicle. The study, consisted of telephone surveys & the interviewing of focus groups.

Electricore Sponsored Student Wins Scholarship Pageant

Electricore proudly announced that Miss Kali Jelen, age 9, has been selected Queen, Little Miss Valencia in the Miss Santa Clarita Valley Scholarship Pageant.  Miss Jelen, sponsored by Electricore, competed in categories including a judged interview and public speech about the sponsor.
